2.d) City Commission Preliminary Approval of Development Agreement Negotiations with EcoSeascape Construction Services, Inc. for Application DR 20-05 - Dunedin Causeway Hotel at 491 Causeway Blvd.
I respectfully that you deny this request. A review of the Causeway Corridor Study would indicate no similarities to what was outlined in the Study. The Development agreement is being sought so applicant can increase density in rooms from 34 to 51, as well as parking spaces. I see two building which take up the majority of .85 acres. I see very little area to accommodate Sanitation vehicles, fire trucks, dumpster storage, swimming pool, guest parking etc. Additionally you have already approved a large restaurant across the street. Ingress and egress are almost across the street from a road that services Hampton Inn, Frenchy’s and over 100 residents. This use would generate 414 traffic trips per day. They are held to a standard of 3 stories...why cram in 51 rooms and parking on .85 acres. At some point emergency vehicles will not be able to navigate to Royal Stewart Arms.
