2.e) First Reading of Ordinance 20-29, amending Section 109-10.1 of Division 1 of the Land Development Code to revise the date providing for an additional term for termed out board members.
Being a member of the Board of Adjustment and Appeal, I spoke favorably before the last LPA meeting.
Time has allowed me the opportunity for further reflection. I now speak to you in opposition.
Two of you face an election and I expect you both to vote “yes.”
Three of you constitute a majority. The termed-out dates were well known to all of those involved.
Voting “no” tonight is a vote “yes” for your original intention. Now at the last minute, we have a “technical glitch."
I encourage my counterparts to gracefully step aside, to advise a “no” at the second reading.
For me, termed-out, I may no longer be sitting on the dais, it does not mean that I would not be sitting or standing in front of it.
Should Resolution 20-30 be adopted, this letter is not to be construed as an abdication.
Some Boards and Committees currently lack members. Please consider submitting an application and PARTICIPATE!
