I don’t understand the membership terms, particularly the restriction on slip renters. If the goal is a good cross-section of citizen interests, there should be minimum members by categories vs maximums. Currently there are no minimums, only 1 maximum, & it’s in the on the people that are funding the marina, which makes no sense! With the current wording, the committee have 0 slip renters. Also, if someone meets another category & the category of slip renters is maxed out, that person is prevented from putting a boat in the marina unless they leave the committee (this isn’t hypothetical, it happened). Both are clearly bad side effects of the wording. So a few questions prior to approval: 1-What interests/categories should be represented? 2-If the intent is to have a good cross-section of interests, what is the purpose of maximums vs minimums? 3-What interests/categories comprise the current membership? 4-With current wording, does a commercial slip renter count against the 6 renters.

On multiple occasions the City Parks Director has confirmed that the Marina is 100% funded by Slip Renters. If that is true, why are slip renters the ONLY group to be limited in their membership on the Marina Advisory Committee.
