I support the building of affordable housing. I do have concerns that concentrating it in a given area will equate to socio-economic red-lining. We need to incentivize ADU's. It's not a competitive chance. It's a certainty to spend the 8k/unit like we're willing to spend on this project and have those increased property values on the tax roles while protecting the integrity of residential neighborhoods. You're willing to waive parking for a developer why not an ADU? You have a handle on short-term rentals so what exactly is holding you back from not spending any monies and letting residents and the free market provide the solution while expanding property owner rights? Time has proven that working with the county programs and other inter-local agencies doesn't work. Just exactly what are you afraid of?
