I am all for clean energy. I have solar panels on top of my home that not only provide my home electricity needs, the panels also provide the electricity for powering my Chevy Bolt all electric car.

Solar does not work at all at night and only works well when the sun shines. Some days I make twice the power I need while other days I need to draw power from the grid. Solar only works well on south facing roofs where they are not shaded. This time of year nearly all the power I make is produced in only five hours. During those five hours I am producing way more power than I can use and am supplying my neighborhood with power. The rest of the time I am using power from Duke Energy.

Wind turbines frequently draw power FROM the grid to maintain themselves. They would mar our beautiful waterfront view. They are known to kill birds.

We need reliable power and today the best, cheapest, and cleanest source of reliable power comes from natural gas.

    Vote NO on Resolution 18-43.

I strongly support the adoption of Resolution 18-43. Floridians are especially susceptible to the effects of climate change. By increasing our use of clean energy and decreasing our reliance on fossil fuels, we can help slow the effect climate change is having on our community. I urge the Commission to vote to adopt this resolution.
