I am Bonnie Mickles, President of the Tahitian Place HOA. Tahitian Place, located at 1980 Tahitian Place Dr., consists of 39 units and borders Jerry Branch Creek north of SR 580. The HOA common property includes 759 feet of creek frontage extending to the creek centerline.
Historic development records from 1977 indicate the creek bank slope was originally 4:1. In some areas it is now approximately 2:1, causing structural damage risk to the community. The erosion is rapidly worsening, creating steep unstable banks and depositing significant sediment into the creek, forming a large island.
Engineering firms have advised us to contact the City of Dunedin because the property extends into the creek. We are seeking the appropriate City contacts to meet with regarding this urgent issue, as prior calls and emails have gone unanswered.
