I believe the City is not addressing the problem. Any and all of the management options presented in the NGF letter can fail or succeed. All are likely to fail if the problem is not addressed. The problem is that the City and Golf Club are not meeting the standard of a "first class" golf course as currently mandated by the current golf course license agreement. The Golf Club obtained a grant and developed a plan to return the Club to a first class golf facility. The City should adopt this plan, fund this plan and work this plan.

The NGF letter does not include a Case Study for Options 1 or recommended Option 4. DGC operations since the purchase of the clubhouse have been excellent & represents a case study for Opt. 1. The cart barn construction project was essentially a case study for opt.4. It was woefully over budget, behind schedule and did not acheive "first class" result.

Adopt the full restoration plan, fund the plan and work the plan.

You have heard from me many times on this issue. I want to commend staff, committee’s and boards involved in making a recommendation to the Commission on what I feel is the best option presented you by the NGF. I feel this is a step in the right direction in that the city can now generate revenue to offset expenses. I am confident, given time, golfers will experience the quality product that this City has always been known for. Please approve what staff is recommending.
