I am a Dunedin native, and former employee of the Environmental Lands Division of Pinellas County. When I worked for the County in 2006 I was approached by the City to partner on an FCT grant to purchase this property. I had the latitude at the time to inspect the site and coordinate a grant application between the City and County. As I did my Master's work in the Florida scrub on the Lake Wales Ridge in central Florida I knew immediately that we had something really special here that needed to be preserved. I thought is was a no brainer. Alas, I was told the County did not have the funds or political will to make it happen.
I cannot express how overjoyed I am now that Pulte Homes has pulled out of the contract and there is now the opportunity for local gov'ts to purchase this land and preserve it for ecological and recreational purposes. This is truly an investment worth making in this community and I know you all will make it happen!

Save the preserve, it is Vital. Please vote with wisdom and reverence. We have a thriving tax base at this phase in Pinellas development. Please be responsible stewards to the Earth.
